Officer (Schemes Administrator)

The Regulator is an equal opportunity employer and, in seeking to recruit an Officer (Schemes Administrator), invites applications from suitable candidates. The selected candidate will be expected to enter into an indefinite contract subject to a probationary period of six (6) months.  Unsatisfactory performance during the probation period will lead to termination of the contract.

The Officer is responsible the day-to-day administration of the Unit managing the grant schemes and for performing administrative duties related to grant schemes that are being managed by the Regulator for Energy and Water Services.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide support to the Head of Operations Unit or to any other Officer as may be designated by the Chief Executive Officer;
  • To perform administrative work and supervise personnel that are assigned to a project/assignment that s/he is responsible for.
  • To carry out administrative duties as required and directed.
  • vetting of and processing of applications and assisting applicants in understanding the requirements;
  • participate in the effective implementation of the projects and programmes assigned to him/her;
  • perform duties related to energy efficiency and renewable sources of energy including registration of products;
  • To participate in the execution of any of the Regulator’s functions as required, in so far as compatible with the post and qualifications of the Officer;

Candidates must:

  • be in possession of a relevant University Degree (MQF Level 6) duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) in Business Administration or Management or Engineering or a related field; and
  • be proficient in the use of widely available software packages, and
  • have the ability to communicate in the Maltese and English Languages; and
  • have the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
