ROOF THERMAL INSULATION AND DOUBLE GLAZING Scheme – 2018/RIDG
This scheme has been exhausted. Only Part B is available for those already having the approval and having to complete the form after completion of works.
The Roof Insulation and Double Glazing scheme is administered by the Regulator for Energy and Water Services to encourage the use of systems that reduce the consumption of energy in the domestic sector. This scheme is funded through national funds and applies to private individuals (natural persons) for use on their residential properties, and for organisations that are not carrying out an economic activity.
This scheme launched by means of Government Notice 528 of 2018 has been further extended to 31st December 2019 as per Government Notice 1509.
This Notice has now been superseded by Government Notice 599 dated 28th May notifying the closure of such scheme.
Once again, this scheme has been further extended to 31st December 2020 or until funds are exhausted as per Government Notice 1645.
This Notice has once again been superseded due to the fact that funds have been exhausted, thus the scheme has been closed.
This scheme provides a grant of 50% of thersese eligible costs up to €1000 for both retrofitted roof insulation and double glazing and 50% of the eligible cost up to €350 for newly constructed residential units that go over and above the minimum requirements. Eligible expenditure includes the purchase of a Roof Thermal Insulation Material and Double Glazed Apertures including VAT. Part A of the application for the grant must be filled in by the Applicant PRIOR to the purchase of the equipment and must be accompanied by the relevant supporting documentation. Part B is the request for reimbursement and must be completed by the Applicant AFTER the equipment has been installed (including payment and certification). Online applications can be submitted here.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Applicants need to apply prior to purchasing the eligible systems. The Regulator for Energy and Water Services will issue a grant offer letter confirming that the applicant and their chosen equipment are eligible for the scheme. The system have to be installed within six months of the grant offer letter. Part B of the application form together with the required documents must be submitted after the installation is complete and within the six months mentioned in the grant offer letter.
Application forms for the grant are to be submitted to the Regulator for Energy and Water Services on the dates stipulated on the notice in the Government Gazette and in accordance to the requirements of the scheme.

REQUEST FOR REVIEW
Any request for review should be submitted to the Regulator within one month from the date of the rejection letter. Their request will be assessed by the Review Committee.
