Post of Clerk
- The Regulator for Energy and Water Services (REWS) invites applications for the post of Clerk.
- The Clerk will be required to provide support to management in the administration and management of the Regulator.
- The post is for an indefinite period. However, the selected candidate will be subject to a probationary period of six months. Unsatisfactory performance during the probationary period will lead to termination of the contract.
- be able to demonstrate that he/she possesses:
- be in possession of Matriculation/MATSEC/Sec (Grades 1-5), and/or GCE Certificates (minimum ‘C’ Grade) showing minimum of six (6) passes at Ordinary Level or higher in different subjects to include Maltese, English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects; and
- be in possession of a European Computer Driving License (ECDL); and
- be proficient in the use of widely available software packages; and
- have the ability to communicate in the Maltese and English Languages; and
- have the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Certificates and/or testimonials must support qualifications and experience claimed. Photocopies are to be included with applications and originals produced for verification at the interview.
- It is the responsibility of candidates, in possession of qualifications awarded by foreign universities/tertiary education institutions, to produce an evaluation report on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). A copy of the said report issued by the MQRIC, or the designated authority in case of warrants, should be attached to the application, with the original presented at the interview. Candidates not in possession of this report may still apply, provided they submit a copy of the report to the REWS as soon as it becomes available and in any case by not later than fourteen (14) days from the closing date of the call for applications.

- good IT skills, preferably in database and knowledge management;

- appreciation of technical issues related to the Regulator on the international scene and to Malta’s obligations under international law and conventions.
- The successful candidate will report to the Officer responsible for the Competence, Licensing and Enforcement Unit, or to any other officer as may be designated by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Eligible applicants will be interviewed by a Selection Board appointed by the Regulator to assess their suitability for the position.
