Grants on the purchase of wind energy systems for domestic use
Micro wind turbines installed on domestic premises may qualify for a grant of 25% on the purchase price of microwind systems (with a maximum generation capacity of 3.7 kW) and subject to a maximum of € 232.94.

Applications forms the grants are to be submitted to the Malta Resources Authority within 3 months from the date of purchase of the equipment or products. The Terms and Conditions for applying for the grants are listed on the application forms that can be downloaded in pdf format.

The following information is required to be submitted with the application form:
- A copy of the Identity card of the applicant.
- The original fiscal receipt of the purchased equipment.
- An official document bearing the suppliers letterhead, listing the technical details of the equipment.
- A certificate endorsed by an electrical engineer, certifying that the system purchased is a wind turbine for domestic use.
- A copy of the notification form submitted to the MRA or a copy of the authorisation to install and operate the solar PV system (as applicable).
- A statement from Enemalta Corporation confirming that the purchased and installed wind turbine was connected with the national electricity grid.
- A copy of the development permit or MEPA’s response to a development notification (as and where applicable) regarding the installation of the wind turbine system and a declaration by the applicant that the system has been installed in line with existing development policy and control guidelines and development permission requirements.
