This scheme is operated by the Regulator for Energy and Water Services to encourage the use of renewable sources of energy for domestic use. The scheme was suspended between the 31 December 2012 and the 13 May 2013.
The scheme was extended to the 31 December 2014 by government notice GN 1142 of 2013.
The scheme was further extended to the 31 December 2015 by government noticeGN 1299 of 2014.

Additional Information applicable to both the National and ERDF Schemes
Applicants need to apply prior to purchasing the eligible systems. The Regulator for Energy and Water Services will issue a grant offer letter confirming that the applicants and their chosen equipment are eligible for the scheme. The systems have to be installed within six months of the grant offer letter. Part B of the application form together with the required documents must be sent after the installation is complete and within the six months mentioned in the grant offer letter.

Application forms for the grants are to be submitted to the Regulator for Energy and Water Services on the dates stipulated on the notice in the Government Gazette and in accordance to the requirements of the applicable scheme.
Note: Notification to the REWS is not required in the case of solar water heaters

Request for Review
Any request for review should be submitted to the Regulator within one month from the date of the rejection letter. Their request will be assessed by the Review Committee.
