Electric Vehicles and PV Systems 2011

This scheme is regulated by Government Notice 840 of 2011.
This scheme applies solely on the purchase of new electric powered vehicles for personal use that derives its motive power exclusively from an electric motor, which vehicle has never been registered in any country and which vehicle shows either of the following categories on the logbook:
- L3e (motorcycles)
- L6e (mini quadricycles)
- L7e (quadricycles)
- M1 (cars)
Applicants may apply for a grant of:
- 20% up to €2500 on the purchase price of the vehicle; and
- 50% up to €3000 on the purchase price of a PV system.
Part A of the application/s for the grant which must be filled in by the Applicant PRIOR to the purchase of the technology and must be accompanied by the relevant Annex I and Annex II (detailed quotation from supplier) to part A.
Part B is the request for reimbursement which must be completed by the Applicant AFTER the purchase (including payment, installation and commissioning of the equipment).

A list of registered PV modules may be found here. No registration of vehicles is required – all new electric vehicles in the classes listed are eligible.
Any request for review should be submitted to the Authority within one month from the date of the rejection letter. Their request will be assessed by the Review Committee. Procedures and guidelines to present such a request may be found on the following links:
