DOUBLE GLAZING SCHEME FOR BIRZEBBUGA RESIDENTS – 2019/DG

The scope of this scheme is to aid those households in specific areas of Birzebbuga that are in close proximity to the Freeport, so as to replace any external facing apertures which are antiquated or inefficient and change them to better sound insulating ones.

This scheme is governed by means of Government Notice 1334 of 2019. 

This scheme provides a grant of 90% of the eligible costs up to €2,000 for double glazing. Eligible expenditure includes the purchase of a Double Glazed Apertures including VAT. Further details on how the scheme operates can be found in the guidelines and application forms listed below.

Guidelines for Applicants

Part A of the application for the grant must be filled in by the Applicant PRIOR to the purchase of the equipment. Part B is the request for reimbursement and must be completed by the Applicant AFTER the equipment has been installed (including payment). Application forms for the grant are to be submitted to the Regulator for Energy and Water Services on the dates stipulated on the notice in the Government Gazette and in accordance to the requirements of the scheme.

REQUEST FOR REVIEW

Any request for review should be submitted to the Regulator within one month from the date of the rejection letter. Their request will be assessed by the Review Committee.
