Feed-in Tariff Scheme
In the following lists one will find the status of the applications which requested a feed-in tariff since August 2015 and which were more than 40kWp.
PV applications from August 2015 till June 2017 FiT Scheme updated 7 December 2021
PV applications from July 2017 till November 2018 FiT Scheme updated 7 December 2021
PV applications from November 2018 till December 2019 FiT Scheme updated 7 December 2021
PV applications of 2020 FiT Scheme update 7 December 2021
In the PV Capping Status one will find the active FiT Schemes, rates, expiry date of the related FiT Scheme, overall capping capacity, allocation uptake and status of the individual application.

The Regulator has also changed its requirements with respect to clearances by the Planning Authority regarding photovoltaic installations.
Irrespective of the capacity being applied for, the applicant has to declare that:
Either (i) has planning permission issued by the Planning Authority and in such case provides a copy & approved drawings of such permit;
or (ii) has a confirmation from the Planning Authority that the proposal does not require planning permission, and in such case provides a copy of such confirmation & related drawings ;
or (iii) in case of non of the above and no documentation from Planning Authority is being provided, the applicant is confirming that the PV installation is in compliance with the Development Notification Order, 2016 and the Planning Authority’s procedures and guidelines including “Development Control Policy and Design Guidance and Standards 2015” and/or any later updates;
Only latest versions of applications, refer to the website at https://www.rews.org.mt/#/en/sdgr/286-feed-in-tariff-allocation-to-photovoltaic-installations-for-sizes-between-1kwp-and-400kwp , will be accepted.

FiT Applications > = 1kW and <40kW (15c for 20 years)
Kindly note that as from the 26th February 2021 at 8.00am the Regulator for Energy and Water Services will start receiving new “Part 1 PV operating Aid” applications for the allocation of a feed-in for PV systems with capacity equal or greater than 1kWp and less than 40kWp under the Feed-in Tariffs Scheme (Electricity Generated from Solar Photovoltaic Installations) Regulations as amended by Legal Notice 61 of 2021.
