The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER)
The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) is an agency of the European Union and was established by Regulation 713/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009. It has its headquarters in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The main function of the Agency is to help and coordinate at EU level the activities of national regulatory authorities, ensuring the integration of the electricity and the natural gas market and harmonising the regulatory frameworks in the context of the EU energy policy.
One of the bodies within the Agency is the Board of Regulators (BoR) composed of senior representatives of the National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) of the EU Member States and one non-voting representative of the European Commission. The BoR plays an influential role in the decisions, opinions and recommendations issued by the Agency.

The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER)
The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) is the voice of Europe’s national regulators for electricity and gas. Its members are the independent statutory bodies responsible for energy regulation at the national level. CEER is at the forefront of efforts to protect and empower energy customers, championing the development of competitive energy markets, with sound and independent regulation, in the public interest. Through cooperation and training, CEER fosters best practice energy regulation, supporting national regulators in their daily work.

MEDREG
MEDREG, the Association of the Mediterranean Regulators for Energy, was set up in 2006 as a working group and in 2007 as an association and is an EU-funded project. It aims to promote the achievement of a consistent harmonized and investment-friendly regulatory framework aimed at providing maximum benefits to energy consumers of the Mediterranean region.

MEDREG Information

WAREG
WAREG is a network of European Water Regulators. REWS is a founding member of WAREG. Its primary aim is to promote closer cooperation among its Members on a voluntary basis. WAREG was established as an informal network on 23 April 2014 under the initiative of a small group of regulatory authorities. Today it consists of 26 Members and five (5) Observers from 26 countries in Europe and the Caucasus.
WAREG is organized through a number of internal bodies: General Assembly, President, Vice-President, Secretariat and Working Groups. In December 2017, it was formally established as a non-profit organization under Italian law.
