2020 PV Grant Scheme

To further encourage the use of renewable energy equipment in the domestic sector, REWS is launching a new 2020 PV scheme. New applications will start to be accepted as from Tuesday 5th May 2020. This scheme is being governed by Government Notice 438.
This new scheme will follow exactly the same procedures as for the past scheme and private individuals (natural persons) making use of space on their residential properties, and organisations that are not carrying out an economic activity may gain from this scheme.
This new but similar scheme is nationally funded and the budget allocation for this scheme amounts to €3M.
Applicants may apply for a grant under this scheme for a system by means of an online form from the Regulator for Energy and Water Services website (www.rews.org.mt) or by means of the form downloadable from the same website. The scheme is administered and governed in terms of the guidelines also downloadable from the website.
Applicants who have received a grant for a similar system since 2006 shall not be eligible for another grant issued in terms of this Scheme.
List of grant percentage:  PV systems: 50% of eligible costs up to a maximum of Euro 3,000 per system and Euro 1000/kWp and (kWp times €3800) minus eligible cost.
The Regulator for Energy and Water Services shall at all times have the right to make any amendments to this scheme by means of a notice published in the Gazette containing such amendments.
